What does one give to someone who has everything? I remember years ago of unique things people
would do to profess their love, undying friendship or devotion. Things like engraving a tree or having a
single engine plane fly a banner with a marriage proposal. There are some very creative people out
there. One event stuck out in my
mind. It was a wedding anniversary for a
couple celebrating their 25th year together. Their children gave them a bottle of wine
engraved with the date of their marriage and a wish for another 25 years of
bliss. The glasses were even engraved
with their names. It was truly memorable
while being a bit whimsical. From the
look of it this couple was lacking for nothing so it was an appropriate
celebratory gift.
I was now in a similar situation, though not for a 25th
wedding anniversary.
My gift was for my best man who was in need of nothing. He had been married for several years now and
in fact introduced me to my fiancé. We
had been friends for years and had been in more than a few scrapes
together. A friend through thick and
thin is how we looked upon each other.
He had even helped me choreograph my proposal. Recently, he had to put his dog of 15 years
down and it broke his heart. He swore
not to get another pooch until he was ready.
He was ready, but he needed a nudge.
Thinking of that engraved
bottle of wine I went looking to see if anything like
that was available. Eureka! It was
champagne, better yet. I could have a
bottle of premium champagne and two flutes engraved from Engrave-a-Remembrance. It was perfect. Being the great friend that I am I took him
to get a new pooch. I had prepicked the
little guy and he was a match. Upon
getting home to thank him I handed he and his wife the Engrave-a-Remembrance
gift with the date of bringing home his new best friend. I choreographed that all on my own.
